Terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Cameron (Kam) Low of auscaster, who makes and runs Silvertongue ("we" and "us"). They cover the browser extensions (Silvertongue and Silvertongue Self), the service at api.silvertongue.dev (and its old address, silvertongue.auscaster.com), the MCP server at mcp.silvertongue.dev and these pages. Installing the extension, signing in or using the service means you accept them. Last changed 4 November 2026.

What Silvertongue is

A writing tool. You bring the point, the facts and any words of your own; Silvertongue writes a draft of them in the style of a voice you pick by name, or in your own voice, studied from writing you paste, and puts it in the box you are writing in. You decide what to post or send. Silvertongue never posts or sends anything for you.

What you pay for

The only thing Silvertongue sells is writing compute: the drafts its model writes for you. Every voice is free, on every plan and everywhere Silvertongue works.

  • One press of Reply, Rewrite or Try again is one draft, and so is studying your writing for your own voice. A draft or a study that fails costs nothing.
  • The first three drafts need no account. Signing in with Google gives you 30 free drafts a month.
  • Paid plans, when they open, buy more drafts a month. The price and the number of drafts are shown before you pay. A plan renews until you cancel it, and when you cancel, it runs to the end of the period you paid for. Each month's drafts are a pool that ends with the month.
  • A plan never buys a voice, or anything of the person or character a voice studies. No voice is sold, priced or kept back for a plan, and free and paid accounts get the same voices.
  • The profiles, the MCP server and the skill are free. With them, your own model writes the drafts.
  • If the price of a plan or the drafts it includes change, we email you at least 30 days before your next renewal, and you can cancel before the change applies. The free allowances can change; the extension always shows how many drafts you have left.
  • Where the Australian Consumer Law or the law where you live gives you a refund, you get it.

The voices

Every voice is an unofficial study of a writing technique, made from a person's own public writing and speech, or from a character's lines in the works they appear in. Every source is linked on the voice's page.

  • Nobody named wrote, reviewed or endorsed Silvertongue or any profile, and Silvertongue is not affiliated with any of them.
  • A name says only whose published writing a profile studies. Silvertongue claims no ownership of, and no rights in, any person, character, name, likeness or voice, and these terms give you none.
  • Characters, their names and the works they appear in belong to their rights holders.
  • The profiles are published under CC BY 4.0 in the open repository. That licence covers the text of the profiles, which Silvertongue wrote. It grants nothing in any person's name, identity or likeness, or in any character.

Your drafts

What you write with Silvertongue is yours, and so is the decision to use it. We claim no rights in your drafts.

  • A draft is your writing, in a studied style. Never present it as the words, views or endorsement of the person or character whose voice you chose, or as something they said or wrote.
  • Read every draft before you use it. A model writes it, and it can get a fact wrong, miss your meaning or strike the wrong tone.
  • What you post or send is your responsibility, and so is following the rules of the site you post it on.

Your own voice

Silvertongue Self studies writing you paste and keeps a profile of how you write, so drafts sound like you.

  • Paste only writing that is yours, or that you have the right to use. It stays yours.
  • We keep the profile (how you write, counts of your habits) and at most sixteen short lines it quotes, until you delete it on its profile page. We never keep the writing you pasted.
  • Your profile is never published, shared, sold or used to train a model.

What you must not do with Silvertongue

  • Pretend to be a person or character a voice studies, or let people believe a draft came from them.
  • Deceive people with fake quotations, reviews, endorsements or announcements, or with messages that seem to come from someone else.
  • Harass, threaten, defame or demean anyone, or target a private person.
  • Mislead people about an election, a vote or a public emergency.
  • Send spam, or post in bulk or automatically.
  • Break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
  • Get around the limits, for example with extra installs or accounts for more free drafts, by sharing or selling an account key, or by reselling access to the service.
  • Attack, overload or scrape the service.

We may suspend or end an install or an account that breaks these terms.

Removing a profile that studies you

If a profile studies your writing, or a character whose rights you hold, and you want it taken out, write to us through auscaster.com/studio. You do not need to give a reason.

  • We take it out of the open repository and the service within seven days, and it stays out.
  • We may ask you to show that you are the person, or that you act for them or for the rights holder.
  • Copies that others made under the licence before it came out are theirs, and outside our control.

Copyright, trademark and other legal notices go to the same address. To report an error in a profile, or a draft that went wrong, open an issue on GitHub; anyone can propose a correction as a pull request.

Your install and your account

  • The extension makes its own install token when you install it. Signing in with Google gives the install a key, which only your browser holds; signing out ends the key.
  • An account is for one person. Keep its key to yourself: drafts written with it count against your account.
  • You must be at least 13 to use Silvertongue, and old enough to hold a Google account where you live to sign in. To buy a plan, you must be an adult or have a parent's or guardian's permission.
  • The privacy policy says what the extension reads, what is sent and what is kept.

The service

  • Silvertongue keeps changing: voices are added, studied again or removed, and features, supported sites and the free allowances can change.
  • We work to keep it running, but it can be slow or unavailable, and a draft can fail.
  • You can stop at any time by removing the extension.
  • If we ever close Silvertongue, we give at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any paid period.

What we are responsible for

Under the Australian Consumer Law, our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, and nothing in these terms takes away a right or remedy you have under that law or any other law that cannot be excluded.

Beyond those rights, Silvertongue is provided as it is. We are not responsible for what you post or send, or for how anyone responds to it. Where the law allows us to limit our liability, it is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

The law that applies

The law of South Australia governs these terms, and its courts hear any dispute. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the law where you live, and can bring a claim in its courts where that law allows.

Changes to these terms

Every change is posted here with its date. A change that takes something away from you applies no sooner than 30 days after we post it, and if you have a plan, we email you before it applies. You can stop using Silvertongue, or cancel your plan, before then.
